Brewing the Perfect Cup of Tea
At Buddha Teas we understand that high-quality, fine tasting infusions are very important to our customers. This is why we’ve taken the time to find some of the best brewing secrets so that you can experience the superior taste of an exceptional brew of herbs.
Although brewing the perfect cup may seem like a crafted art, it is actually quite simple. The first step to achieving a great tasting drink is to use fresh water, preferably filtered or spring water. This is important because teas, especially herbal infusions, are known for having very subtle flavours that can be lost or altered if prepared using unfiltered water.
We also recommend using a glass or ceramic pot to boil your water. Once the water has come to a boil, turn off the stove and add one tea bag for every cup of water. For a stronger brew of tea, you can double the amount of tea bags used. Most infusions will require a period of 3 to 6 minutes to steep, depending on the type of herb and the strength that is preferred. Herbal infusions may take longer to reach full strength, sometimes even 8 to 10 minutes. Never hesitate to alter the amount of teabags used or the steeping time in order to achieve the brew that is most favourable to you.
After the steeping process, remove the tea bags, discard them, and pour the infusion into your favourite cup or mug. Honey, sugar, lemon, or other accompaniments can be added to your tea to attain different flavours if desired.
Other Tips
Your method of storing your herbal infusions is important as well. Airtight, sealed packaging or containers should be used to retain the full flavour. Avoid exposure to light, humidity, and high temperatures.
Bleach-free tea bags are essential for enjoying pure infusions. At Buddha Teas we never bleach or add any chemicals to our teas so that you can enjoy beneficial herbal drinks at no risk to your health.
