We Are Eco-Friendly
Buddha Teas is an environmentally conscious herbal tea producer which offers various eco-friendly green methods to support the environment. We use the most eco-friendly paper available, we use soy-based ink, we offer water-based aqueous coatings, and we have a large recycling program.
Eco-Friendly Paper / Recycled Paper
Since Buddha Teas inception, the company has offered cost-effective and environmentally friendly recycled paper boxes. More than 50% of our products are made from recycled materials. These recycled materials primarily consist of post-consumer recycled paper, which is material discarded after consumer use that has been separated from solid waste to be recycled into new paper. Recycled paperboard is one of the best options for an environmentally friendly minded business or organization to use. In addition, all of our paperboard is 100% recyclable.
In conjunction with our philosophy of offering eco-friendly recycled green boxes for customers, Buddha Teas is FSC-certified. Customers can be assured that FSC-certified products purchased by Buddha Teas is traceable to responsibly managed forests, and that there are documented controls in place to make sure that the integrity of the environment is upheld.
Soy-Based Ink
Buddha Teas is proud to use soy-based ink which is biodegradable and therefore more environmentally friendly than traditional petroleum-based ink.
Water-Based Aqueous Coatings
Buddha Teas offers aqueous coatings, which are water-based, and therefore an excellent eco-friendly alternative to traditional varnishes.
Recycling Program
Our recycling program doesn’t stop at the products that we offer our customers. We recycle everything we can. This includes:
- Paperboard waste generated during the printing process as well as office paper.
- Wood products, such as pallets and off-cuts.
- Metal, including all aluminum plating materials and metal straps.
- Liquid wastes such as oil.
Unlike many other herbal tea companies, we separate our scrap paper into several different categories. This eco-friendly practice greatly reduces natural resources used in milling virgin paper. The paper waste we recycle saves thousands of trees each year.
In addition, our production area has abundant natural sunlight, thereby reducing the need for electricity.
